We had a good week, but boy we missed our friends! We took it slow and did lots of review. We missed our many friends that were home resting up. The kids cheered when a new friend came back after a few days of being out, which was sweet to see! These kids really enjoy their classmates, and for that, it was great for Mrs. Jacobs and myself to see that friendship, and their love for school. As always on Fridays, we had a great time with our 6th grade Buddies. We went for a walk around the school for some fresh air, and made Bats with flapping wings!
A few talking points for your kids:
• What prayer do you say when you first see Mrs. Flood for library? (Angel of God Prayer )
• Which is your 6th Grade Buddies name?
• Do you like playing in the kitchen better or at the lego table?
Religion: October 22nd was the Feast of Saint John Paul the II, what a fascinating man! We talked about how 2 of our friends have the saint name, John (for one a first name and another friend has it for his middle name) We then talked about all the children’s middle names, and what saints they may have been named after. They loved it! Oh, To be a fly on the wall of our classroom, we have a blast with your children!
We have Church on Tuesday 8am. We will learn about Saints Simon and Jude this week.
Literacy: Jolly Phonics this week is the Letter “M” and “D”. Your kids have been doing so well with rhyming! Ask your kids to rhyme with you! Far/ car, cat/ mat….etc. This is one of the many exercises in our phonic awareness program we do daily!
Math: Lots of spooky fun Halloween counting activities
Science: Pumpkins!!
Next week we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week. The theme is “Make a Difference be a Hero”. These fun activities come from the Student Council. We will have a different theme each day!
