DLI Kindergarten Newsletter – August 28

Dear DLI Kindergarten Families,

Yay! We made it through our first full week of Kindergarten! It has been such a wonderful week of getting to know one another, learning our classroom routines, and settling into our new school year. I am so proud of our students!

We kicked off our week by learning about our classroom expectations, and the students have picked up our routines so quickly! We have been practicing how we move through our day, take care of our classroom, listen to one another, and make positive choices. We have also started talking about “decisiones verdes y rojas” (green and red choices). Ask your child to tell you all about them. You may be surprised by how much they already know!

We have also started learning some new songs and had a full week of our special classes. We are excited to add Music to our specials schedule starting next week!

Our First Project of the Year!

On Monday, our first project of the school year will be sent home! Instructions will be included in your child’s Communication Folder, so please be sure to check for them.

I am so excited to see our students’ creativity shine, and I can’t wait to see their projects come back to school!

Looking Ahead:

September 2 at 7:00 PM: FSA Meeting in PC
September 3 at 6:30 PM: Cub Scouts Meeting in Morrissey Hall
September 4: 2:00 PM dismissal, with aftercare available
September 7: No School

Thank you for helping make such a wonderful first week of Kindergarten! I am so excited for all the learning, growing, and fun that is ahead. We are off to a great start!
