¡Hola, familias!
We had another wonderful week full of learning, songs, and fun in DLI Pre-K 4! Our little learners continued building their Spanish vocabulary, strengthening their early literacy and math skills, and practicing our daily classroom routines.
Letra de la semana: Uu
This week, we focused on the letra Uu! We explored words that begin with the letter U and practiced recognizing its sound. We also continued practicing writing and recognizing our names. These daily activities help students become more familiar with the letters in their names and develop important early reading and writing skills.
We also began introducing our vocabulary words for the month of October! Students are learning new Spanish words and practicing their meanings through classroom discussions, repetition, and interactive activities. We will continue reviewing these words throughout the month to help expand our Spanish vocabulary and build confidence using new words in everyday conversations.
Heggerty:
Our Heggerty nursery rhyme of the week was “Naranja dulce.” Through this traditional Spanish rhyme, students practiced listening to rhythm, recognizing rhyming patterns, and strengthening their phonological awareness. We love incorporating music and familiar rhymes into our learning!
¡Cantamos cada mañana!
We continued practicing our morning songs, which help us learn Spanish in a fun and engaging way. We are working hard to remember the lyrics, improve our pronunciation, and build confidence as we sing together.
Our morning songs include:
We love seeing how our little learners become more confident as they sing along and participate in our morning routines!
Color de la semana: Negro
Our color of the week was negro (black)! Students practiced identifying the color negro and looking for it in objects around our classroom and daily environment.
Número de la semana: 6
This week, we focused on el número 6! We practiced recognizing the number, counting objects, and strengthening our one-to-one correspondence skills. Through hands-on activities and counting practice, students continued developing their early math skills.
