I hope everyone had a great Fall Fest!! It was great seeing so many families having fun and seeing all the students run around!

We have been having some issues with students not charging their chromebooks at home. Please remind your students to plug in their chromebooks everyday. They need their chromebooks fully charged for a lot of their classes.
6th Social Studies- 6th grade has moved on to early humans! We are working through the Paleolithic and Neolithic eras. We are comparing and contrasting the two eras! Next up we will be moving on to the Fertile Crescent and Mesopotamia!
7th Social Studies- 7th grade has finished learning about the American Revolution. We will be working through our study guide to prepare us for our test! Next up will be Tensions that lead to the civil war.
8th Social Studies- 8th grade has started learning about WW2. We have talked about the New Deal to help move us past the great depressions, and the series of events that lead us into the war.
7th Literature- 7th grade has finished their projects on their very own Utopias. We have started presenting this morning and will move on to start reading our first novel “The Giver”
8th Literature- 8th grade has started reading the Hunger Games. We have met our main characters and will continue to read the story and talk about the different aspects of the novel.
Junior High Class Model:
Along with various specials teachers, students will be switching for Social Studies/ 7&8th Literature (Ms. Diaz), Science/ Math (Ms. Fogle), Math (Mrs. Van Wyck), ELA (Ms. Skinner) and Religion (Mr. Ochoa) throughout the week. This gives students a feel for switching courses and having many different teachers and teacher expectations as they prepare for high school.
