We have been so busy for the start of the year! The students have been working hard on i-Ready testing! Almost everyone is already finished! So proud of their hard work and focus!

We have been having some issues with students not charging their chromebooks at home. Please remind your students to plug in their chromebooks everyday. They need their chromebooks fully charged for a lot of their classes.
6th Social Studies- 6th grade has started learning the importance of geography! We are working on creating our very own islands!
7th Social Studies- 7th grade has started their recap of the American Revolution! We had our very first quiz!
8th Social Studies- 8th grade is learning about the Great Depression. We have had some great discussions!
7th Literature- 7th grade has started reading the short story “Broken Chain”. We will soon be starting our first novel “The Giver”.
8th Literature- 8th grade is reading the short story “Flowers for Algernon. We are working on identifying different types of Irony.
Junior High Class Model:
Along with various specials teachers, students will be switching for Social Studies/ 7&8th Literature (Ms. Diaz), Science/ Math (Ms. Fogle), Math (Mrs. Van Wyck), ELA (Ms. Skinner) and Religion (Mr. Ochoa) throughout the week. This gives students a feel for switching courses and having many different teachers and teacher expectations as they prepare for high school.
