Math
We will continue working on representing numbers 6-10 using objects and written numerals, as well as comparing numbers up to 10.
Throughout the month, we will also focus on these important math skills:
Tally Marks: We will use tally marks to represent numbers and show groups of tens and ones.
Counting by 1s: We will continue practicing counting by ones, working our way up to 60! Keep practicing at home as well.
Religion
This week, we learned about our five senses and what a wonderful gift they are from God. We discussed how God created us with the ability to see, hear, smell, taste, and touch, and how we can use these gifts to experience and appreciate the world around us.
We will also be learning about All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. Saints are God’s superstars! They are wonderful examples of people who dedicated their lives to loving God and serving others. Because of their faith and good works, they hold a special place in heaven. We will learn about several well-known saints and hear stories about their lives, the good things they did, and how we can follow their examples in our own lives.
Reading
We continue to practice our high-frequency words and build our reading skills. This week, we enjoyed reading Pete el Gato: ¡Sensacional para la escuela!
As we move through November, we will begin learning about Thanksgiving and the importance of counting our blessings. We will talk about all the things we are thankful for and how we can show gratitude to those around us.
