¡Bienvenido, Septiembre!

It was another wonderful week of learning and growing in DLI Kindergarten! Our students have been working hard and making great progress in all areas.

Literacy & Letters

This week, we focused on our vowels: A, E, I, O, and U. We practiced recognizing, naming, and forming each vowel.

Next week, we will begin working with the letters M, P, S, and L.

During phonics, we are working hard on recognizing rhyming words and blending vowels with other letters to create syllables. We will continue practicing proper letter formation as well as writing our full names using capital letters.

Math

In math, we started working on missing numbers and identifying what comes before and after a number. We are also continuing to practice proper number formation and writing.

Please continue practicing numbers at home whenever you can!

Religion

This week in Religion, we talked about “Cómo usamos nuestras manos para bien” — How we use our hands for good.

We discussed all the wonderful things we can do with our hands, such as helping a friend, sharing, being kind, and taking care of others. We also talked about the importance of keeping our hands to ourselves and making good choices with our hands.

We are learning that our hands can be used to show kindness, love, and helpfulness to those around us.

Looking Ahead: Fall Fest

We need your help to make Fall Fest a big success! Parent volunteers are needed to help on Sunday as well as other days.

Please consider signing up to volunteer. You can visit the parish website for more information and to find the volunteer sign-up.

Important Drop-Off & Pick-Up Change
Beginning Tuesday, September 8, all Pre-K–Kindergarten students will have drop-off and pick-up on Spring Avenue by the corner of 54th Street.

Please note: This is a temporary change and will only be in effect while Fall Fest is taking place. Once Fall Fest is over, we will return to our regular drop-off and pick-up location.

Please be patient and allow extra time as everyone adjusts to this temporary routine. Thank you for helping us keep arrival and dismissal safe and organized!
