We had a busy and wonderful week in Kindergarten! We have started shifting some activities during morning circle time to help keep students engaged and excited about learning.
📚 This Week’s Learning
Letters: Letters: This week, we learned about the letter M! We practiced recognizing the uppercase and lowercase M, saying its sound, and finding words that begin with M. We also practiced forming the letter through fun activities. Next week, we will begin learning about the letter P. We will practice its sound, learn new words that begin with P, and work on recognizing and writing both uppercase and lowercase P.
Math: Â We focused on recognizing and representing the numbers 4 and 5, while also building on and reviewing the number concepts we have learned so far. Students practiced counting objects, matching numbers to quantities, and showing numbers in different ways using hands-on activities and classroom materials. They are doing a wonderful job understanding that numbers can be represented in many different ways, such as with objects, drawings, fingers, and numerals!
Religion: We learned that God created and gave us the Earth and all the wonderful things in it. We talked about how we have a special responsibility to care for God’s creation and treat the world around us with kindness and respect. Students shared thoughtful ideas about ways they can help care for the Earth in their daily lives, such as picking up trash, taking care of plants and animals, using resources wisely, and keeping our classroom and community clean. We are learning that even small acts of care can make a big difference!
⛪ Mass with Our 8th Grade Buddies
Tuesday, September 22. This will be our first Mass with our 8th grade buddies. Please have students arrive as close to 7:45 AM as possible so they can complete their jobs and be seated by 8:00 AM.
