6th Social Studies- 6th grade has finished up on the Mesopotamia!  We are working on final quizzes and will be moving on to Ancient Egypt on Monday!  The students are super excited to learn about this subject and there is SO MUCH to learn!

7th Social Studies- 7th grade has finished the Civil War! Starting next week we will go over the whole Civil War to review and get ready for our test!  I will again provide a study guide, so please make sure they are studying!!

8th Social Studies- In 8th grade we are continuing nearing the end of WW2!  The students are currently looking at ways Americans were able to help during the way through ways such as rationing, and helping out with picking up work. We will start a review next week to get ready for our test as well.

7th Literature- 7th grade has finished reading a short story titled “Beware of the Dog”.  This has been a story about suspense and students have been working hard to understand how an author creates suspense in a story.  We will read the poem ” Annabel Lee” and “The Highway Man” next.

8th Literature- 8th graders have finished the “Hunger Games” !  We will start reviewing the Hunger Games Next week and take our Final Novel quiz.  We will move onto some fun short stories next!

Junior High Class Model:

Along with various specials teachers, students will be switching for Social Studies/ 7&8th Literature (Ms. Diaz), Science/ Math (Ms. Fogle), Math (Mrs. Van Wyck), ELA (Ms. Skinner) and Religion (Mr. Ochoa) throughout the week.  This gives students a feel for switching courses and having many different teachers and teacher expectations as they prepare for high school.
