🍎 Kindergarten Corner: Growing, Learning & Having Fun!

What a wonderful week of learning and growing! We are continuing to build our classroom routines, practice new skills, and become more independent each day. Here is a look at what we have been working on and what is coming up!

Letter Formation Practice

This week, letter formation practice sheets went home. Please pull out one page at a time and have your child practice the letters at home. Once they have completed that practice page, send it back to school and they will earn a sticker!

Keep practicing and returning the pages until your child has completed all of the practice sheets. A little practice at home will help build strong handwriting habits!

Our Traveling House Book

Starting next week, your child may bring our Traveling House Book home. Please take a moment to look through the book together and enjoy seeing the pages created by our classmates. When it is due back, please send it back to school so the next classmate can take it home to see and share with their family.

Math

Next week, we will finish our first Into Math workbook, where we have been working with numbers up to 5.

Then we will begin our second workbook and start exploring numbers 6–10! Students will practice:

Representing numbers 6–10 with objects
Matching quantities to written numerals
Comparing numbers up to 10

We are excited to build our number sense and keep those math brains growing!

Religion

We will continue attending 8:00 a.m. Mass on Tuesdays. Kindergarten did so good this week! They did an amazing job at church and were so prayerful. We will continue practicing our folded hands, genuflecting, and participating in some of the prayers and songs.

Next Week: Baptism!

Next week, we will be learning all about Baptism and how through Baptism we become part of a bigger family, our Church family. We will also visit the baptismal font at church.

We will have a special Baptism Show and Tell:

Boys: Thursday, October 1
Girls: Friday, October 2

Please send in a baptism memento with your child. It could be:

A picture
Baptism invitation
Baptism candle
A piece of their baptism outfit
Another special baptism keepsake

If your child was not baptized, no worries at all! They may bring in a special item that reminds them to keep God close.

Please talk with your child about their Baptism and help them prepare to share:

1. Who are your godparents?
2. What did you wear?
3. Who came to your celebration?
4. What did the celebration look like?
5. Why was everyone so happy?
6. Did you sleep, cry, smile, or do something funny during the celebration?

We can’t wait to hear all of their special stories!
