In 4th grade we have really begun to dive into our curriculum.  We have completed the iReady Fall Diagnostic and the students have begun to work on their assigned paths.  We will discuss their placement and progress during conferences in November.

Math:  We have been working with multi-digit numbers by explaining how writing estimates can help determine if the quotient is reasonable and how to use compatible numbers to estimate quotients.

Reading: We have begun our next book Mary Anning; The Girl Who Cracked Open The World.  We have been looking closely at the vocabulary and researching more into her life.  Make sure to ask what was so special about her!

Science:  We are continuing to talk about what Science is and will have our first science vocab quiz the end of next week.

Religion:  We had our first quiz this week.  We will continue next week talking about respecting the rights of others and giving them what is rightfully theirs.

ELA:  We have begun using our new writing curriculum and the class is in the beginning stages of writing their first narrative.  We will display them in the hallway at school.  This way the students passing by can learn even more about the awesome 4th Graders we have here at St. Cletus!  We will be back to our weekly spelling test and our words will focus on the long vowel sound.
