What a wonderful week of learning and growing! Our students have been working hard, showing great enthusiasm, and continuing to learn new skills each day. Here are some highlights from our week:
Language Arts
This week, we began working with the letter M/m! We practiced recognizing, writing, and producing the /m/ sound. We also started combining the letter M with our vowels (**las vocales**) to make syllables:
ma – me – mi – mo – mu
The students have been doing a wonderful job practicing these sounds and beginning to put them together. We will continue building on these skills as we grow our reading and writing abilities.
Math
In Math, we continued practicing **number writing** and began exploring different ways to **represent numbers**. Students practiced using:
Tally marks
Dots
Drawings and other visual representations
We focused especially on recognizing and representing the numbers 3 and 4. The students are doing a great job learning that numbers can be shown in many different ways!
Religion
This week in Religion, we talked about how **God gives us light and created the moon and the stars**:
“Dios nos da luz, creó la luna y las estrellas.”_
We reflected on God’s beautiful creation and the light He gives us.
Our “House” Projects are due next week!
For those who have already sent their projects in, **they are looking great!** Thank you for taking the time to work on these special projects with your children. We are excited to see the rest of them!
Safety Drills
This week, we completed all of our state-mandated safety drills for our school. Our students did an amazing job! They practiced listening carefully, following directions, and learning what to do in case they encounter different situations.
We are very proud of how seriously they took these drills and how well they demonstrated that they know how to stay safe.
